Annette Wilkes, OTR, MOT

President and founder of Stepping Stones Therapy

Annette is the President and founder of Stepping Stones Therapy. She Graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree with a major in Science from the University of North Texas in 1995 and a Masters of Occupational Therapy Degree from Texas Woman's University in 1999. She has over 15 years experience as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist.

Annette began her work at Children's Medical Center of Dallas during graduate school where she worked as an Occupational Therapy/ Physical Therapy tech for 2 years. Upon graduating with her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy in 1999 she began working as an Occupational Therapist in Early Childhood Intervention and at Baylor Medical Center at Irving in acute care. Annette started her home health company, Stepping Stones Therapy, Inc. in 2001 and began seeing pediatric home health patients along with contracting her services to various pediatric settings including Early Childhood Intervention programs and pediatric clinics in Dallas, Keller, and Southlake.

She then recognized a great need for a pediatric therapy facility in Flower Mound and the surrounding areas which led to the opening of Stepping Stones Therapy for Kids clinic! She wanted to provide a facility that could offer occupational, physical, and speech therapy all in one setting. Therefore allowing families more quality time together and less time spent driving to multiple treatment centers. Annette has focused on providing families with only highly experienced pediatric therapists who are passionate about helping children.

Annette has extensive training and experience in a multitude of Pediatric treatment methods including: Beckman Oral-Motor Protocol, Sensory Feeding Therapy, Astronaut Training Program, Therapeutic Listening Program, Wilbarger Therapeutic Brushing & Joint Compression Program, NDT (NeuroDevelopmental Treatment) , Greenspan Floortime Approach, Sensory Integration Treatment, and Handwriting Without Tears.

Annette's passion for the children she works with has led her to seek specialized training in Sensory Processing Disorders, Visual Deficits, Vestibular Dysfunctions, Feeding Difficulties, Fine Motor Deficits, Handwriting Difficulties, Cerebral Palsy, Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Attention Disorders, Developmental Disorders and Behavioral difficulties related to Sensory Processing and Autism.
