Sarah Cruz, M.S. CCC-SLP


Sarah Cruz graduated with a Master’s of Science degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Redlands in 2008 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders from California State University in Fullerton in 2006. She began as a speech pathologist assistant in 2006 working for the school districts and remained an SLP-Assistant until she was fully licensed in 2008. She has over 11 years experience as a Pediatric and adult Speech-Language Pathologist.

Sarah started her career working for the Dallas Independent School District through EBS Healthcare. She then moved to the Irving Independent School District to provide pediatric speech therapy services while also working part-time for the Baylor Institute of Rehab. Among her full-time jobs, she also gained a vast amount of experience in the nursing homes where she worked with a many of dysphagia and electrical stimulation patients.

Sarah prides herself in both being a medically based and educational based speech language pathologist which has allowed her the ability to competently work with children and adults with a variety of disorders. She now spends most of her expertise in the area of tethered oral disfunction, specifically, as it relates to feeding disorders and functional impact in speaking and eating. She specializes in: autism, apraxia, cognitive impairments, oral motor and myofunctional impairments, receptive/expressive disorders, articulation disorders, phonological disorders, swallowing disorders/feeding including tongue and lip tie restrictions and fluency disorders.

Sarah is currently NMES (neuro-muscular electric stimulation) certified through Vital Stim, oral motor trained, and PECS trained.
Her passion is working with babies displaying feeding disorders, children with a variety of communication disorders, and parent education to help other’s gain knowledge of feeding and language based disorder. She spends her time outside of work with her husband, sweet sone and beautiful daughter!
