Cindy Black, OTR

Lead Occupational Therapist

Cindy Black earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from University of Central Arkansas at Conway in 1996. Since that time she has practiced in a variety of Clinical settings including inpatient rehabilitation, home health, and pediatric outpatient clinics. For the past 11 years, her focus has been centered on pediatrics and advancing the quality of life for the children that she serves. She is very passionate about Occupational Therapy and the amazing benefits it can provide for the children in our communities. Cindy is very passionate about teaching patients, parents, and others in the community about Occupational Therapy and the benefits it has on her patients and families. She has presented on the following topics: Sensory Integration including a discussion of the sensory systems and their impact on development; Autism; and Handwriting.

Her continual quest for innovative techniques has led her to pursue additional training in the following areas: Therapeutic Listening, Astronaut Training, Advanced training in Visual/Vestibular Assessment, The Ready Approach (Evaluation and treatment of Sensory Processing Disorders), Sensory Integration and Praxis, The M.O.R.E program, The Alert Program (Attention/Self-Regulation), Handwriting Without Tears (including the assessment), Wilbarger Protocol, and Myofascial Release.

Cindy specializes in working with children with Developmental Visual and Vestibular difficulties affecting academic performance including reading, writing, attention, and successful participation in physical education based tasks. She has extensive training in the evaluation and treatment of Visual and Vestibular deficits that are contributing to the struggles that many of our children are facing on a daily basis.
